Twitter has appointed Nigerian-American marketing expert, Bukky Ojeifo as its new global head of culture and community following the departure of God-is Rivera, who previously held the position.

In her new role, Bukky will continue to carry the company’s mission of serving diverse voices who contribute to the public conversation on the platform.

Before her new role, Ojeifo was the firm’s senior manager, global culture and community.

Her main role at the time was that she guided how Twitter amplifies and engages with the underrepresented communities that use the service.

Twitter said they are excited for that work to continue under Bukky’s leadership because she has been key to the success of the Culture and Community team and a passionate, creative, strategic powerhouse from the start.

“Bukky is the voice of the Voices – an intentional community builder and fierce advocate who strives to elevate and uplift in everything she does,” the company said.
