Nigerian Banks nominated for the Banks of Africa Advertising Awards in South Africa

The nominees have been announced for the Banks of Africa Advertising Awards to hold on the 23rd of February 2018 at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, South Africa. Banks of Africa is an initiative to recognize and promote financial service excellence across the continent. The Advertising Awards event is dedicated to celebrating outstanding achievements in financial marketing and communications. It is organized  by Africa to America Productions based in USA and South Legacy in South Africa.

This year’s event will focus on financial institutions and the advertising agencies that cater to them in three sub-regions: West Africa, East Africa and Southern Africa. The following Nigerian banks were nominated in various award categories:Access Bank, Diamond Bank, Ecobank, Fidelity Bank, First Bank, First City Monument Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Sterling Bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA) and Zenith Bank. Also nominated were the Central Bank of Nigeria and Bank of Ghana in the Central Banks in West Africa category.

The award categories include Outstanding Television Commercial; Outstanding Radio Jingle; Outstanding Digital Advert; Outstanding Experiential Marketing; Outstanding Brand; Outstanding Brand Extension / Innovation; Outstanding Campaign; Outstanding Head of Communications; Outstanding Advert Agency and Outstanding Central Bank. There will also be a special award for Global Recognition to be presented to a banker that has pursued a career to universal acclaim.

The nominees were selected by a panel consisting of professionals in the media and communications industry. The panel has members from each of the African sub- regions. The panel members submit five nominations per category, which are collated to determine the top five nominees.

“The awards event will be a ceremony not to be missed. With this prestigious event, we will entertain the banking greats, and show what advertising is all about,” says Talita Erasmus, the Marketing & Communications Manager in South Africa. The nominated institutions in each category are invited to participate in the event. Registration will come with a table for six at the awards gala and a full page colour advert in the Awards Brochure. There are also sponsorship and advertising opportunities.
