Villarreal winger, Samuel Chukwueze, has won the player revelation award for the 2018/19 season at La Liga club.
The award was announced on Villarreal’s Instagram page on Tuesday.
Santi Cazorla won the best player award, while Cameroon’s striker Karl Toko-Ekambi won the top scorer award.
Chukwueze already started the new campaign on a bright note, scoring a goal in his club’s league opener against Granada.
The 20-year-old joined Villarreal in 2017 from Diamond Football Academy in Nigeria and was promoted to the senior team last season.
At the end of the 2018/19 La Liga season, he scored five goals in 26 league appearances.
Chukwueze was also part of the bronze-winning Super Eagles 2019 Africa Cup Nations squad. He scored the opening goal in Nigeria’s 2-1 win over South Africa at the quarter-final stage.
