Nigeria’s leading beauty summit hosted by House of Tara International tagged ‘1000 Voices’ held on November 8, 2017, at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The Creative Director and CEO of House of Tara International, Tara Fela-Durotoye during her welcome address said “House of Tara International represents the possibilities that can be accomplished when you stick to a vision. I started this business with N15,000 and over the years it has helped empower thousands of Nigerians. It is more than just a business.”
The summit hosted almost 1,000 beauty entrepreneurs from all parts of the country. The day featured several masterclasses and a spectacular panel discussion on the beauty business titled ‘’Growing my Tara business’’ and moderated by Bukola Akinmboni.
The panellists shared insight about how they have leveraged on House of Tara’s platform to grow their businesses. They also shared stories of their successes and how they have been able to overcome challenges.
Several make up competitions, a raffle draw and several giveaway prizes from House of Tara and their sponsors were enjoyed by the guests.
The first lady’s speech commended Tara Durotoye by saying “Tara’s ingenuity and creativity is exemplary. She located her passion, confidently nurtured it against all odds, and built a business empire that has empowered thousands of people. If more young ladies especially those searching for jobs can make that decisive move like Tara, then I wonder whether we might still have unemployment amongst us.”

Guests at the event include; Mrs Bolanle Ambode, First Lady of Lagos State represented by Mrs Idowu Lai-Mohammed; Chairman of First Bank; Mrs Ibukun Awosika, Osayi Alile, Bimpe Onakoya, Funke Bucknor amongst others.
The day was wrapped up by a glamourous awards dinner, where members of the House of Tara advisory board members (Mrs Ibukun Awosika, Osayi Alile, Ada Iwugo and Chukwuka Monye) presented awards to beauty entreprenuers with outstanding performance.
