“Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.”– Ashley Smith
Our lives are never going to be complete and fulfilled until we do not take the first step. One must have a dream, a purpose to work on- because an aimless life brings no true adventures and challenges. Nevertheless, there are many who feel lost and have no idea what they want to achieve in life. Here, I’d try to guide you through it
Starting at it, one must get more clarity of what they want. The way you get more clarity is the same way you drive through fog. Don’t let not knowing how to approach a purpose prevent you from spending time on what you know.
In order to begin, begin. Things get clearer only as you move ahead. Don’t let that fear prevent you from even beginning in the first place. However, dreaming isn’t enough, it’s realizing that dream that is most important and where most lack.
The human tendency to lose hope after initial failures or changing the entire plan or course of the dream than the right alternative to the same purpose that drives them; failing is actually learning and a crucial step towards chasing your dream. Thus it cannot be, in fact should, it should not be escaped. After all, there are no shortcuts to success. Moreover, if this does not amplify your need to move towards your dreams and recreate your methods of perceptions, here are some popular and common steps to chase dreams and reinvent yourself:
1. Read, Read, Read .. And READ SOME MORE
Bill Gates said in PC Magazine in the year 2008 that “I really had a lot of dreams when I was a kid, and I think a great deal of that grew out of the fact that I had a chance to read a lot.”
Not just occasionally, but make it a habit. It always helps. We are the result of our repeated behavior. As Aristotle puts it: “Success is not an action but a habit.”
Hence: Habit = knowledge + skills+ desire. Don’t compare with anyone, set your own limit, be it 50 pages a day to 500 pages a day but start reading.
2. Change Your Mindset To Never Give Up
Make sure you remain optimistic and hopeful enough to work towards your dream and your passion even if you meet failure. You never know how close you were before you decided to give up. If you have the will, you’ll find a way, always. Believe in yourself. You are what you think you are. You should govern your brain, your thoughts and if you can master your thoughts, you can really conquer the world.
3. Set Discipline Over Motivation
Yes, it’s pretty human to get demotivated. But its not always motivation that helps. In these times of unproductivity or inefficiency, it’s the self-discipline that gets you through. You must do what you need to do over what you want to do, to ultimately get what you want. Do you think all great personalities out there relied on motivational videos to drive them through? No, it was the discipline that came to rescue. And discipline doesn’t always mean sacrificing your happiness but only doing what’s important keeping the end goal in mind.
4. Keep Working, Have No Zero Days
Even if it’s a bit but make sure you do at least 2-3 things every day that brings you closer to your goal. Prioritize and plan. Yes, plans don’t always work and you don’t need to punish yourself for them, but plans are like catching nets for the days you have and making them productive or you end up messing everything and little achievement. Work just 2 hours but make sure it’s productive.
5. Smart Work Over Hard Work.
You don’t need to overwork without managing things. Sometimes smart working is confused to be shortcuts but no, it’s really a combination of the two that brings success. More things to keep in mind is to surround yourself with good company, as being around people who fan your flames, who are themselves willing to achieve something drives you to work towards your goal too. Good Company changes you in limits unbound.
Other than this, you must also maintain your sleep hygiene and take care of your health; sleeping seven hours is a bare minimum to have a healthy working brain; it enables freshness of ideas. Eat good food and take care of your health.
