Pretty soon, smartphones will become pretty much the only computers we’ll use. They are already powerful enough to handle all of our entertainment needs from games and social networks to movies and playing at Betway Nigeria, and secure enough to be used for payments, banking, and other things requiring a completely safe and secure environment. The only issues with smartphones are that they are either too expensive or too “weak” to appeal both to the player and the worker in you. The handsets below, in turn, will offer a great performance for any of your needs and do it at a more affordable price (the prices are valid on Jumia at the time this article is written).
Nokia 6.1 – N90,000
When it revived from its ashes like the mythical Phoenix, Nokia has had a lot of negative press to counter. It did its best, offering its fans a series of great handsets with a premium look and feel at prices that didn’t break the bank. Today, it continues to offer more of the same, apparently focusing more on the user than its own bottom line, giving us phones that we can afford and that offers us a great performance.
Nokia 6.1, the updated version of last year’s Nokia 6, has a great performance thanks to its octa-core Snapdragon 630 SoC and 3GB of RAM (for the 32GB model), along with its great Zeiss camera, and massive 3,000 mAh battery. It has a 5.5″ screen, the latest version of Android, and it’s great for both fun and work – and its price is much friendlier than that of a flagship device.
Xiaomi Mi A1 – N70,000
Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has made a name for itself thanks to its high-performance devices with an affordable price. The Mi A1 is no exception – it comes with a Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC paired with 32GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM, a dual main camera, a full HD display, and a decent 3,080mAh battery for this friendly price.
What makes it special is that it has Android One installed on it – it’s a clean and stock Android 8.1 with no bloatware whatsoever, and with the updates handled by Google, which means that the updates and upgrades come much faster.
Huawei P10 Lite – N90,000
Although it was released last February, the Huawei P10 Lite is still a great choice – and a surprisingly affordable one, too, for its performance. It is powered by Huawei’s home-grown octa-core Kirin 658 SoC paired with the Mali-T830 MP2 GPU for a great performance in games, and it has loads of RAM and storage, too. It has a more than decent camera, a large 3,000mAh battery, quick internet connection capabilities and it also looks great.
It is a great buy that will stay relevant for at least a year or two.
