Avon HMO Announces Osakpamwan Imasogie as New CEO

Avon Healthcare Limited, a subsidiary of Heirs Holdings, has appointed Osakpamwan Imasogie as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2024. Imasogie succeeds Adesimbo Ukiri, who has led the company as its pioneer Managing Director and CEO since its inception in 2012.

According to Avon HMO, under Ukiri’s leadership, the organization grew from a startup into a leading player in Nigeria’s health management sector. Imasogie, who previously held the role of Group Head of Operations since 2021, brings over 20 years of leadership experience in financial services and healthcare. During his tenure at Avon, he spearheaded technology-driven initiatives that enhanced provider relationships, claims processing, customer service, and contact center management.

Commenting on the transition, Dr. Awele Elumelu, Chairperson of Avon HMO, emphasized that Imasogie’s appointment aligns with Heirs Holdings’ commitment to fostering internal career progression and succession planning. “The board of Avon HMO welcomes Osa as its new CEO. His experience with innovation and technology-driven solutions, coupled with his leadership track record, makes him the ideal choice to guide Avon HMO into its next growth phase,” Elumelu stated.

Imasogie expressed gratitude for his new role, noting his commitment to advancing the company’s mission through technology, partnerships, and expanded services. “I am deeply honored to take on the role of CEO at Avon HMO. With a focus on our mission, we will continue leveraging technology, building relationships, and collaborating with partners to enhance service delivery and broaden our reach,” he said.

Imasogie holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Ambrose Alli University, an MBA in Leadership and Management from York St. John University in the UK, and various professional certifications, including Management Analytics from MIT Sloan School of Management in the USA. His career spans strategic roles in operations, compliance, and project management across the financial and healthcare sectors.
