Former Gov. Gbenga Daniel leads facilitators for The Future Project leadership boot camp 2017

The Future Project Leadership boot camp kicked of the first phase of its youth leadership and civic engagement project in Oyo, Lagos and Ogun states.

 The 5-day intensive development program which is designed to promote active participation of young people in leadership at local and national level was organized to enable young leaders play a leading role in agitating for greater accountability within their respective local governments.

 A total number of 120 applicants with exceptional leadership profiles as well as ability to impact their communities were shortlisted to attend the training after a comprehensive review process.

 The training also featured top-notch facilitators from varying background to share insights. The facilitators include Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Former Executive Governor, Ogun state; Hon. Victor Fasanya, Member House of Assembly, Abeokuta South Constituency; and Professor Segun Awonusi, Vice Chancellor, Tai Solarin University of Education.

 Others are Barr. Kayode Akinsola, Lead Partner, Queens Attorney; Ayomide Faleye, Data Analyst, BudgIT; Mr. Clement Olusegun, S.A to the Governor of Ogun state on Youths; and Demola Olanrenwaju, and Political Strategist amongst others.

 Speaking on the impact of the boot camp, Akinkunade Dare an attendee of the Ogun boot camp described it as an interactive and motivating seminar.

 “Today was a productive day for me and I’m glad to have learned things about the ways in which youth can get involved in government. I am excited to see that youth have interest in the process of running the country, especially at the lower level such as local governments. I’m encouraged to meet like-minded youth with passion and enthusiasm to see that things are done in the right way. Many thanks to The Future Project for making this event to be possible,” Akinkunde added.

 Ademo Oluwaseyi who attended the Oyo boot camp expressed my joy for being selected to attend the event.

 “Sincerely, this is one of the best programs I have attended. Thank you for impacting me,” Ademo stated.

 The leadership boot camp was proudly supported by Ford Foundation.
